The condo is ideally located close to all amenities of downtown and within a short 5 min drive (or nice 20-30 minutes walk) to LANL. Best restaurants, museums, live music, an intricate network of trails, all are within a few minutes of walking! Smith grocery store, bus stops, movie theater, library, museums, swimming pool, fitness centers, playground, Starbucks, hospital are only a few minutes away as well.
There is one covered parking space reserved for the condo on the ground floor of the building. Additional free parking is available for extra cars. The condo is equipped with air conditioner to keep you comfortable on hot summer days. Most of the units in the complex are occupied by LANL employees, offering a safe, family friendly environment.
The full kitchen comes fully stocked with all the essentials for cooking a real meal. It is complete with full sized refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, various coffee makers, kettle, toaster, hand and stand mixers, kitchen machine, small and regular blenders, pots, pans, dishes, mugs, glasses, containers, utensils.
The Master bedroom has a King size bed, a second bedroom has a twin day bed with a second twin mattress that slides out from underneath. The bed linens, duvet covers, towels are provided. In the closets you will find extra towels, sheets, blankets, and pillows.
There are two bathrooms in the condo. One has a shower and is connected to the Master bedroom, another bathroom has a bathtub.
A compact Washer/Dryer is located in the unit (great for doing smaller loads!). There is also a laundry room at the ground floor of the building. The dryer is equipped with the indoor filtered exhaust. It doesn't produce any dust or smell when operating. We also have retractable clotheslines set up on the balcony. Complimentary laundry supplies are provided. We care about our guests with sensitivities, and always use unscented detergent for all laundry. In a walk-in closet there is also a full sized ironing board and an iron.
A two minute drive will take you to the Bradbury Science museum. The Nature center (fun for kids!), library is 2 minutes away as well. Walk to Ashley pond (6 min walking), in the summer, there are free concerts on Fridays, free music nights on Tuesdays, and free kids Movies at the Pond.
GETTING AROUND
Atomic City Transit is a FREE bus system covering the City of Los Alamos and surrounding areas. It connects with NMDOT Park & Ride and North Central RTD buses. All local routes are fare free. Dispatch: (505) 661-RIDE (7433). Dispatch Hours: 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, Mon - Fri.
Bus stop is only a few minutes walking away. Downtown bus circulates every 15-30 minutes. A bus to Santa Fe (stops by the library) is 6 minutes walking away. Condo is located on Trinity drive, allowing for an easy, straightforward exit to Santa Fe.
If you'd like to visit Bandelier, take a free Bandelier Shuttle. It operates seven days a week (including holidays) mid of May through mid of October. During this time personal cars are not allowed at Bandelier between 9AM and 3PM.
HIKING/BIKING
In addition to two national parks nearby (Bandelier National Monument and Valles Caldera), Los Alamos offers a 58-mile network of trails. In Los Alamos, you can always find a trail within a 5-10 minute walking distance. The closest trails are Acid canyon trails behind the swimming pool, only 6 min walking away.
HOUSE RULES
NO SMOKING inside the condo (no exceptions).
Please be considerate of neighbors and maintain acceptable level of noise between 9 pm and 7 am.
Please try to leave the place as you found it, so other guests can have the same experience you did with a quick turn around. If the condo is left in a state, requiring excessive amount of cleaning above the typical 3-4 hours, the cost of extra cleaning will be charged to your security deposit.
For everyone's protection, the reserving guest must provide a photo ID to receive the keys.
CHILD SAFETY
Please keep in mind that the condo is not equipped with additional safety features for toddlers. The balcony is not equipped with safety features to prevent child from climbing. Windows have a regular, not break resistant glass. The apartment is perfect for adults, but please make sure it works for your children before making reservations.
